No tsunami was triggered by a pair of earthquakes that struck Friday in the Santa Cruz Islands region, located southeast of the Solomon Islands.

No tsunami was triggered by a pair of earthquakes that struck Friday in the Santa Cruz Islands region, located southeast of the Solomon Islands.

The first earthquake, a magnitude-6.9, was recorded at 11:45 a.m. Hawaii time, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center. The second temblor, a magnitude-6.8, was recorded at 2 p.m. Hawaii time.

There is no tsunami threat to Hawaii from either earthquake.
